"Workflows" Tab (Agency vs. Client View)

Last updated 3 months ago

Overview

The Workflows tab is the engine for all automation in your account. However, its function and appearance change depending on where you access it.

There are two distinct "Workflows" tabs you will use:

  1. Your Main Agency "Workflows" Tab: This is your primary command center. You access it from the main navigation menu of your agency dashboard. This is where you build reusable solutions and manage your own agency's automations.

  2. The Client-Specific "Workflows" Tab: You access this by navigating into a specific client's account and then clicking on their "Workflows" tab. This is where you manage automations exclusively for that one client.

Here is a detailed breakdown of each view.

1. Your Main Agency "Workflows" Tab

This is your top-level control panel. Think of it as your workshop and library. The five sub-tabs here are for creating, testing, and managing assets for your entire agency.

(For a complete guide on this section, please see our detailed article: Agency Workflows Tab)

  • Solutions: This is the marketplace where you can browse and install pre-built solutions from ChatDash into your own agency account to use or learn from.

  • Automations: This is your personal sandbox. You can build or test agency-level automations (e.g., for your own marketing) or test automations on behalf of clients before creating a solution.

  • Apps: This section manages your agency-level app connections. These are connections used for your own automations, not for your clients'.

  • History: This shows the logs and analytics for all of your agency-level automations.

  • Solution Builder: This is the most important tab for your business. Here, you package your own automations into a "Solution" that you can then assign to your clients.

Key takeaway: This tab is for building and managing your reusable solutions and your own internal agency automations.

2. The Client-Specific "Workflows" Tab

When you open a specific client's dashboard and click "Workflows," you are seeing a filtered view that applies only to that client. Think of this as the client's deployment center.

  • Solutions:

    • Marketplace: This tab only shows the solutions you have already assigned to this specific client (from your Solution Builder). It is their personal, curated marketplace.

    • My Installations: This shows the solutions that are currently installed and active on this client's account.

  • Automations: This is the workshop for building custom, one-off automations only for this client. Any automation you build here will use this client's app connections and run only for them.

  • Apps: This is where you manage the app connections for this specific client. Connections made here (e.g., to the client's Google Calendar) are separate from your agency connections and can only be used by this client's automations.

  • History: This shows the logs and analytics only for this client's automations. It's the perfect place to monitor and troubleshoot their specific workflows.
